Open house to gather input for campus perimeter traffic flow and crosswalk study
In July 2017, the city of Manhattan contracted with Olsson Associates to conduct a traffic flow and crosswalk study of key campus perimeter corridors including North Manhattan Avenue and Denison Avenue. The initial data collected, and alternatives for crosswalk enhancements, will be made available to the university and community through an open house event from 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in 4061 College of Business Administration Building.
The study is looking at how to best move pedestrians and traffic around campus edges. Funds for the study were made available through the City University Fund, which was established in 1994 to provide resources for projects deemed to be of mutual benefit for the community and the university.
The open house is a come-and-go event and the consultant will be available to discuss the alternatives, gather input and answer questions. Feedback collected at the open house will help guide the consultant in creating a final set of recommended crosswalk solutions for the city's consideration.
If you are unable to attend the event, the city is collecting input regarding public perception and utilization of the crosswalks identified in the study. You can submit your input at surveymonkey.com/r/MVJZBRT.
