Information sessions for Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell and Truman scholarships begin today
Information sessions will take place at 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the Rhodes, Marshall and Mitchell scholarships, and 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for the Truman scholarships Feb. 14 and 15 in 215 Fairchild Hall. Each day has two opportunities to learn more and ask questions about the awards, their requirements and their respective application processes.
The Rhodes, Marshall and Mitchell scholarships fund graduate study in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Rhodes is exclusively for study at Oxford University, the Marshall allows study at almost any school in the U.K., and the Mitchell funds study in Ireland.
The Truman scholarship awards up to $30,000 to support graduate study for students aspiring to a career in public service. Students eligible to apply in this year's application cycle must plan on graduating between December 2019 and August 2020. Students also must rank in the top quarter of their class.
More information also is available on the Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarship's graduate fellowships webpage. Students can also contact Jim Hohenbary, director of nationally competitive scholarships in 215 Fairchild Hall or at jimlth@k-state.edu with questions or to receive a copy of the campus application for one of these awards.
