College of Arts and Sciences Diversity Committee professional development awards
The College of Arts and Sciences Diversity Committee invites faculty applicants for several professional development awards in the amount of $250 to defray the costs of research and writing mentorship programs.
Applicants must be faculty members in the College of Arts and Sciences. Preference will be given to junior faculty on the path to tenure, but mid-career faculty also are encouraged to apply. Faculty from diverse backgrounds and/or who are underrepresented in their discipline, the College of Arts and Sciences, or their department are especially encouraged to apply. The awards are available for future participation or as reimbursement for previous participation.
Programs that qualify for this award include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Unstuck: The Art of Productivity — $360.
- National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity Membership — $480/year. This includes a 14-day writing challenge in addition to other professional mentorship.
- NCFDD Faculty Success Program, aka Faculty Bootcamp — $3,950.
To apply, submit a C.V. and a statement — not to exceed 500 words — explaining the professional benefit of the program to cas-diversity@k-state.edu. Statements should include the name and cost of the program and the dates of participation.
Applications will be due by April 1.
