Graduate Student Council Poster and Oral Presentations 101
Graduate students: Are you planning to present your research or scholarly work this semester? Attend the Graduate Student Council professional development workshop, Poster and Oral Presentations 101, from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, in the Wildcat Chamber at the K-State Student Union.
Theresa Merrick, Writing Center outreach coordinator, will share information on how to effectively present your work in both an oral format with PowerPoint and in a poster format. In this session, attendees also will learn how to present written, graphic and oral content that can be easily understood and has an impact on diverse audiences. This session may be especially useful for graduate students who plan to give their first presentation this semester, but more experienced graduate students also may learn new strategies for improving their presentation skills.
Register your attendance online.
K-State graduate students and postdocs who attend at least five professional development events hosted by Graduate Student Council during the 2017-2018 academic year will be recognized with a professional development certificate. For each event you attend, you will be sent a link to complete a post-event feedback survey. You must complete the survey to earn credit for attending an event.
The Graduate Student Council strives to provide informational meetings, workshops and forums that enhance the professional development of graduate students. The council promotes interdisciplinary activities to enrich graduate students' education beyond their own disciplines. The council also sends out information on various seminars hosted across campus.
