Students invited to participate in two-day workshop with Los Angeles-based performance artist/storyteller Dan Kwong
Los Angeles-based performance artist and storyteller Dan Kwong will offer a two-night workshop for students from 7-10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, and Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the Purple Masque Theatre.
This participatory workshop is open to all K-State students, but is limited to 16. Kwong is particularly looking for a diverse mix of students across curricular areas and nationalities/identities to participate in the workshop. No previous experience in storytelling or performance is necessary to participate.
During the workshop, students will learn how to develop personal stories using physical, vocal, conceptual and emotional exercises designed to evoke stories and memories.
If you are interested and available, please email Jennifer Vellenga, theatre program associate director, at vellenga@k-state.edu with the subject line, "DAN KWONG."
Kwong also will host a gallery walk on Thursday, Nov. 29, and perform a solo show on Friday, Nov. 30.
Kwong's residency at K-State is co-hosted by the K-State Theatre program and the Beach Museum of Art as part of its Silk Road through Kansas program.
