Legislative Update
Last week, the Legislature worked toward Turnaround Day on Feb. 28. This is the halfway point of the Legislature, and both houses debated and passed multiple bills. These bills will now possibly be considered in the opposite house from which they were introduced.
This week begins the higher education budget hearings before the Senate Ways and Means Subcommittee on Higher Education. President Richard Myers will testify before the subcommittee on Thursday, March 7. His testimony will be posted on the governmental relations website following his presentation.
The Office of Government Relations hosts bimonthly Legislative Updates. Future dates include March 8, 22 and 29 and April 12. All updates are brown bag sessions at noon in the K-State Student Union's Cottonwood Room.
