Calling for faculty judges for annual Research and the State poster session
The Graduate Student Council is calling for faculty judges for the third annual Research and the State graduate student poster session on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
This forum showcases research posters related to issues of interest to the Kansas Legislature. Graduate students participating in the event compete for an opportunity to represent the university at the annual Capitol Graduate Research Summit at the Capitol Building in Topeka, where they will have the opportunity to present their research to state legislators.
The time commitment will be approximately two hours between 8:30 a.m. and noon on Nov. 6. Judges will be grouped with one or two other faculty to evaluate a subset of research posters broadly related to their own academic field.
Faculty interested in serving as a judge, please email the Graduate Student Council Research Forum judging coordinators at egsc@k-state.edu. In your message, please provide your name and academic department. If you know specific times that you will or will not be available, please providing that information as well.
If you would like additional information or if you have any questions, contact the Graduate Student Council Research Forums Committee at egsc@k-state.edu or visit www.k-state.edu/grad/studentcouncil/researchforums.html.
If you prefer to judge oral presentations, please watch for a call for judges next semester. The Graduate Student Council will be hosting the annual K-State Research Forum to showcase undergraduate and graduate student research in poster and oral presentation sessions. That forum will be in late March.
