Sleep in a box for a great cause
Submitted by Katie Mahlmeister
Have you ever spent a night in a cardboard box? We certainly hope not. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of homeless people throughout the U.S. and millions around the world spend every night out on the streets.
K-State Rotaract Club will be partnering with UPC to put on an event to help raise awareness for homelessness within the Manhattan community and abroad.
Box City will be 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, to 9 a.m. Saturday, April 27. Setup starts at 8 p.m. in the Quad on K-State campus. This event is a fundraiser for the Manhattan Emergency Shelter and ShelterBox. We will have guest speakers, snacks and much more.
You can find more information and sign up at ksurotaract.com/box-city or visit the table in the Union.
