KSUnite breakout session to discuss 'Essentials for Diversity Programming and Recruitment Success'
Don’t miss the KSUnite breakout session, "Essentials for Diversity Programming and Recruitment Success," presented by Zelia Wiley and Lonnie Hobbs Jr., from 2:50-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in Room 227 of the K-State Student Union.
According to "Diversity's Promise for Higher Education" by Daryl Smith, originally published in 2009, it is especially important that campuses move beyond basic indicators of student success — graduation, retention and GPA — and are focused on whether students from underrepresented racial, ethnic groups are thriving at the institution — that is, achieving honors, graduating in science and math fields or being generally engaged on campus.
