College of Education committee sponsors Mental Health First Aid training
The College of Education's Diversity for Community Committee is sponsoring a daylong Mental Health First Aid training session provided by Pawnee Mental Health from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in Bluemont Hall.
The committee is funding the $50 registration for the first 25 who enroll, and the training is open to any K-State faculty, staff or student. Lunch is included.
This valuable training is designed to help participants respond to people who may be experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. Details about the course are available at mentalhealthfirstaid.org.
Robert Hachiya, associate professor of educational leadership, is organizing the event, and he can be reached at rhachiya@k-state.edu.
"Please take advantage of this opportunity as we are certain the information covered may be very useful in your personal and professional life," Hachiya said.
