Ning Xu to present Anatomy and Physiology Seminar
Ning Xu, assistant researcher of quality and standards laboratory of aquatic products at the Yangtze River Fisheries Research Institute at the Chinese Academy of Fishery Science, will present "Pharmacokinetics, tissue residue depletion, and physiologically-based pharmacokinetic modeling of doxycycline in grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella)" at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, in the Mara Conference Center, 407 Trotter Hall.
Xu is a visiting scholar and research assistant with the Institute of Computational Comparative Medicine in the College of Veterinary Medicine, working with Zhoumeng Lin. He received his doctorate in veterinary pharmacology and toxicology at the College of Animal Medicine, Huazhong Agriculture University in Wuhan, China.
Xu's research area includes investigating the residue depletion and pharmacokinetics of aquatic medicine using various technological platforms — HPLC-MS-MS, HPLC, GC, GC-MS-MS, etc. — and elevation on the withdrawal period and reasonable dosing regimen of the aquatic medicine.
