Poinsettias galore at annual open house
If you are ready to get into the holiday spirit, plan to visit the annual Poinsettia Open House from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the crosshouse of the Throckmorton Plant Sciences Center Greenhouse, on the corner of Denison and Claflin avenues. Much more than red poinsettias will be on display.
More than 60 varieties of these holiday plants — produced by Greenhouse Operations Management students — will be set out and apple cider will be served. If you would like to share your opinions about which varieties of poinsettias you prefer, you may complete a short survey to be entered in a drawing to win one of several unusual poinsettia plants.
The Friends of the Kansas State University Gardens will sell some of the poinsettias from the at the Quinlan Visitors' Center during the open house and also from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Dec. 5.
