The Collegian is launching an official off-campus housing website primarily focused on K-State students, but also available to any potential renter in the Manhattan area beginning this January.

The site offers an extensive, consolidated catalog of listings in one convenient location.

Featuring a guides tab that will be populated by student-written stories from The Collegian staff, the easy-to-navigate website accounts for exact housing specifications. Potential renters can select from criteria including distance from campus, price range and size, and save their favorite listings for later use. Having these filters on the homepage makes the website a user friendly, productive search tool allowing users to find available rentals year-round.

Local to Manhattan, the website was built by students familiar to the off-campus housing search process. This free service to users includes a comprehensive list of apartments from multiple property management companies, individually owned rental properties and single-family homes. Local property managers who want to reach renters pay a monthly fee to list their properties.

With the current pandemic, it can be difficult for students to find housing. The website provides a safe and effective way for students to narrow their search and find options quickly. K-Staters searching for off-campus housing can use the website beginning in the spring semester, but it is also available to the public. Collegian Media Group will be extensively marketing this across all of its publications and communication channels, including The Collegian, Manhappenin’ Magazine, The Parent and Family Guide, its social media pages, website and email newsletter.

Among the notable features:

  • "My Favorites" tab
  • Lease terms
  • Amenities
  • Maps of the surrounding area
  • Rental rates
  • Quality photos showcasing the house
  • Video links

Interested property managers can join now to receive free early-access through December with the purchase a multi-month subscription starting in January 2021. For additional information on how to establish an account, visit www.MHKhousing.com.
