Submitted by Gabriela Diaz de Sabates
Alianza, "Alliance" in Spanish, is Kansas State University’s faculty and staff alliance for Hispanic/Latino affairs. The organization was created in 1998 by a group of faculty and unclassified staff and is one of the longest standing Latino faculty/staff university organizations in the region. Its purpose is to advocate for the advancement of Hispanics/Latinos on campus while contributing to the enrichment of a diverse community.
Alianza is calling for applicants for its scholarship. It will sponsor four $500 undergraduate student scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year. Application deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, March 29. Eligible candidates should be currently enrolled Hispanic/Latino undergraduates with a 2.5 GPA or higher, who will attend K-State as undergraduates during the 2012-2013 academic year. Previous recipients of this award are not eligible.
The scholarship eligibility criteria and application can be found on K-State's Alianza webpage.
