Research conference for graduate students hosted by math department

Submitted by Natasha Rozhkovskaya

Hosted by K-State's department of mathematics, the third Graduate Research Conference in Algebra and Representation Theory is April 13-14. Doctoral math students from universities all over the country will participate in the event.

The program of the conference consists of 30-minute talks by graduate students and two mini-courses that will be delivered by two invited speakers.

Professor V. Futorny, from the Universidade de Sao Paulo, will talk about "Representations of algebras."

Professor E. Poletaeva, from the University of Texas-Pan American, will talk about "Finite W-algebras for Lie algebras and superalgebras."

The organizing committee of the conference consists of K-State math graduate students: Niles Armstrong, Bryan Bischof, Eric Bunch, Hui Chen, Josh Ericson, Jie Ren, Janu Verma and Xinli Xiao.

The conference is supported by the Nation Science Foundation grant, DMS-1315268, — principle investigator is assistant professor Natalia Rozhkovskaya — and by the department of mathematics at K-State.

Full information about the event is posted online.
