Student Senate Weekly Update
Hello, Wildcats!
Student Senate met on Thursday, March 3. At the meeting, the senate passed many pieces of legislation. These included on-campus allocations to the Hispanic American Leadership Organization and Ratio Christi, and travel allocations to the Anthropology Club, Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, Graduate Students of Agricultural Economics, and Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences. Additionally, Student Senate passed recommendations from the Student-Centered Tuition Enhancements Committee for the fiscal year 2023 student-centered tuition enhancement allocations.
After voting concluded, Student Senate introduced several other allocations, including on-campus allocations to Children's and Adolescent Literature Community, Graduate Students of Agricultural Economics, and Kappa Kappa Psi/Tau Beta Sigma, and travel allocations to Engineers Without Borders, Sigma Alpha Iota, and Structural Engineers Association of Kansas and Missouri — Kansas State University Chapter. After allocations, amendments to the Student Health Advisory Committee, the Student Senate standing rules regarding the ceasing debate,and the SGA statutes were introduced. Additionally, decreases to the K-State Student Union Student Services Fee agreements were introduced, along with approving the 2022 K-State SGA general election results.
Student Senate will reconvene at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, in Wildcat Chamber at the K-State Student Union for the final time this term. All are welcome to attend in person or can watch live on YouTube at the K-State SGA YouTube channel.
