K-Staters to present to Kansas Professional Communicators conference on April 27

Kansas State University faculty, staff and students are invited to register for the Kansas Professional Communicators conference on April 27 at Manhattan's Hilton Garden Inn and Flint Hills Discovery Center. K-State faculty and staff are part of the program.
Jane Marshall, instructor of hospitality management and dietetics, communications coordinator for K-State’s College of Human Ecology and author of "Teatime to Tailgates: 150 Years at the K-State Table," will discuss her book and how "Everyone Has a Food Story."
Melissa Morris, K-State’s Division of Communications and Marketing social media specialist, will present "Making Social Media Work for You." K-State alumna Kristin Brighton, principal at New Boston Creative Group in Manhattan, will be a co-presenter in the session.
David Procter, director of Center for Engagement and Community Development and director of Institute for Civic Discourse and Democracy at K-State, will present a workshop, "The Contentious Setting: Get Balanced Information When the Topic is Loaded."
Bretton Ater, senior in journalism and mass communications and intern at Flint Hills Discovery Center, will provide a tour of the Discovery Center.
Jena Sauber, junior in journalism and mass communications, will be honored as a Kansas Professional Communicators scholarship winner.
Gloria Freeland, assistant professor in K-State's A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications and director of the Huck Boyd National Center for Community Media, and Carol Hockersmith, senior administrative assistant in K-State’s Human Ecology dean's office, are on the conference planning committee.
