Graduate student ambassadors needed for Fulbright short program
Submitted by Leena Chakrabarti
The English Language Program at Kansas State University from July 21-Aug. 11 will host a group of Fulbright graduate students from around the world for a pre-academic program. While at K-State, the participants will study English and learn about the U.S. academic system and culture before beginning graduate programs at other universities across the country. In keeping with the purpose of the Fulbright mission of promoting mutual understanding and peace between other countries and the United States, the group will have opportunities to experience American culture and interact with the local community while they are in Manhattan.
With this in mind, the English Language Program is seeking three to four graduate students to act as graduate student ambassadors and assist the visiting group of students, beginning July 11. The overarching responsibility of the graduate student ambassadors is to help the Fulbright students become acquainted with the American university campus and city life while also representing the Fulbright mission and the values of Kansas State University.
