Student Senate Weekly Update

Submitted by Evan Porter

Student Senate met at 7 p.m. Sept. 1. At its first meeting back of the semester, the senate swore in members of the judicial branch, new student senators and a new cabinet director.

Student Senate approved a constitutional amendment that will allow students who have completed less than 24 credit hours to serve as student senators without meeting the minimum 2.0 GPA requirement. Applications are now open for on-campus and travel allocations for student organizations. Student Senate will consider these applications on a rolling basis.

We will reconvene at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8. Please contact Evan Porter, speaker of the Student Senate, at evanporter01@k-state.edu with any questions. Past Student Senate meetings can be viewed on the K-State SGA YouTube channel.
