Entomology student receives two research grants
Shelly Wiggam-Ricketts, doctoral student in entomology, White City, was recently awarded two grants to support her graduate studies and research. She received the 2013 Mary Bancroft Memorial Research Grant offered by the Kansas Native Plant Society and the Grassland Heritage Foundation Research Grant.
Wiggam-Ricketts' research is focused on the biology of pollinators in native tallgrass prairies and the importance of these pollinators for native wildflower success.
Her major professors are Greg Zolnerowich, associate professor of entomology, and Brian McCornack, assistant professor of entomology.
