Students invited to submit posters for Governor's Water Conference
The deadline for the student poster competition at the upcoming Governor's Conference on the Future of Water in Kansas, sponsored by the Kansas Center for Agricultural Resources and the Environment, has been extended to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4.
The annual conference highlights the latest policy and research developments for water issues in Kansas and attracts hundreds of attendees.
The conference will take place in person Nov. 16-17 in Manhattan.
Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to submit abstracts on their water-related research to be presented as posters. Any research that involves water quantity, quality or water education is eligible. In addition to an abstract, students are required to submit a short — three to five minutes — pre-recorded lightning presentation on their project/poster. The posters will be displayed on the morning of Nov. 17 in the Flint Hills Room at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Poster submission forms can be found online or by emailing kstatekcare@k-state.edu.
Four cash awards will be presented to winners of the poster conference: first place — graduate and undergraduate — will receive $250, while graduate and undergraduate runners-up will receive $125. Winners will be announced on the afternoon of Nov. 17.
Although registration for the conference is closed, students will be able to register at the door. More information on the conference is on the Kansas Water Office website.
