Attend Rural Resource Resiliency NSF Research Traineeship seminar Nov. 17
Students, faculty, staff and the general public are invited to join the Rural Resource Resiliency NSF Research Traineeship, or R3NRT, for a seminar event about water on the High Plains from 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in Fiedler Auditorium, Room 1107.
Lucas Bessire, associate professor of anthropology at the University of Oklahoma and author, will have an informal conversation about his book, "Running Out: In Search of Water on the High Plains," and its major findings.
The R3NRT is an interdisciplinary graduate traineeship sponsored by the National Science Foundation that focuses on discovering engineering and socioeconomic innovations to create resilient food, energy and water systems in rural communities in western Kansas, semi-arid regions despite aquifer depletion and competition for natural resources.
