Volunteer opportunities with the Kansas Science Festival
The Kansas Science Festival is a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization that aims to spark curiosity and excitement about science and research. We aim to be a bridge that facilitates people coming together in the spirit of community-developed knowledge and sustainable relationships.
Our signature event is a STEAM-themed street festival that occurs annually on the last Saturday of April, but we would like to increase our presence in the communities we serve more regularly, both through social media content and smaller events. To facilitate these efforts, we are looking for additional volunteers. If you are passionate about science or communication, we have opportunities for you.
Especially, our social media team could use support with online marketing and outreach, including social media account management, photography, video editing and content creation for TikTok and Instagram.
The Kansas Science Festival is supported by several Kansas State University units. If you are interested in volunteering to help the social media team, please get in touch with Dewey Leierer, Kansas Science Festival communications director, at leierer@k-state.edu, or Michi Tobler, Kansas Science Festival president, at tobler@k-state.edu.
