First meeting of Student Governing Association Emerging Leaders Program today
The first meeting of the Student Governing Association Emerging Leaders Program is at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, in the Wildcat Chamber in the K-State Student Union. The program is open to any student at K-State regardless of their major or academic classification.
Student Governing Association is a group of passionate, hardworking campus leaders who are dedicated to serving the students of Kansas State University. Our work includes representing the student voice to campus administration, allocating more than $14 million for student-based services, leading the student judicial process and creating policies and initiatives to serve the student body.
The SGA Emerging Leaders Program focuses on welcoming new students to our organization and providing an opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of student government at K-State. The program is the best way for first-year students and those who have never been in SGA to get involved in the organization. It is a two-part program, with the first phase focusing on how SGA works, including its structures and responsibilities. The program's second phase is about self-development, honing leadership skills and identifying campus issues about which the students are passionate.
