Summer volunteers needed for Power of Produce Club
The K-State Comprehensive Public Health Group, a registered departmental student organization, encourages you to engage this summer with your local community. The Food and Farm Council will host the Power of Produce Club for the upcoming summer season.
Enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers are needed to assist with this farmer’s market incentive program for children ages 4 to 12.
The Power of Produce Club will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Saturday, June through August, at the Downtown Farmers Market. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to help children participate in fun and educational activities and earn tokens to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at the market.
The group is seeking individuals who are passionate about promoting healthy eating habits and who enjoy working with children. Volunteers will need to be available from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturdays during the summer season. Volunteers can sign up for individual days; there is no requirement to work the whole summer.
If you are interested in becoming a Power of Produce Club volunteer or would like more information, please email the student coordinator, Theresa Quintana, at taq@k-state.edu with your name and contact information or sign up online.
