Submitted by Frederick William Burrack
Frederick Burrack, director of assessment, will lead a panel of assessment professionals in a national webinar put on by the Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
The session titled "Fireproofing" will focus on keeping an assessment system/process viable and vibrant in the long-term. The panelists include Scott Tharp, associate director of academic program review and assessment at the University of Illinois, Chicago; Joel Farrell, vice provost for institutional effectiveness at Texas Tech University; Yao Hill, assessment specialist at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa; and Wendy Adams, associate director for the Center for Teaching and learning at Ohio University.
The panel will respond to the questions: "What can you do to keep things working effectively, despite leadership and institutional changes?" "How do you keep stakeholders engaged and continually striving for improvement?" The panel also will provide hints and tips to keep things safe and operational as business as usual.
This webinar is the third in a series of four webinars around the theme of "More than Bricks and Mortar" answering important questions about the assessment landscape in higher education.
