Student conduct policies
Student Support and Accountability is here to support students navigating a variety of concerns that may be impacting them academically. Additionally, we provide support in addressing concerns related to student behavior and student organization misconduct. Below are several of the university's policies that we encourage staff and faculty to familiarize themselves with:
This policy outlines behavioral expectations for all of our K-State students as we strive to build a thriving and respectful K-State community.
Complaints filed through the Student Code of Conduct are referred to the judicial branch of Student Governing Association, which is comprised of current undergraduate and graduate students of Kansas State University and is advised by administrators with Student Support and Accountability. Complaints can be made under the "File a Complaint" tab in the link above.
Student Organization Conduct Code and Process for Discipline
This policy describes prohibited behaviors for recognized student organizations and details the process for accountability should an organization be referred to the conduct process.
Complaints are reviewed by administrators within Student Support and Accountability and can be filed through the university's Report It page.
It is encouraged for all students, faculty and staff to learn about the Student Amnesty Policy, which was designed to empower students to report alcohol and other drug-related emergencies, sexual harassment, discrimination and other harassment, physical assaults, threatening behavior, incidents of hazing and other similar behavioral concerns without the concern of being punished for minor conduct infractions.
Student Support and Accountability is available to assist in addressing concerns or referring to appropriate resources when applicable. To speak with a staff member, please contact the office weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. when the university is open at 785-532-6432.
Please note that the K-State Police Department remains available 24/7 to address immediate crises and emergencies and can be contacted at 911 for emergencies or at 785-532-6412 for non-emergencies.
