Research Administrators Council meeting Oct. 8
Please plan to join the quarterly meeting of the K-State Research Administrators Council from 10:30 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Oct. 8, via Zoom to learn more about research security at K-State.
With the increasing federal emphasis on research security, every researcher at K-State faces substantial changes to procedures and international relationships. University experts from K-State’s Office of Research Integrity, Compliance and Security and the Division of Risk and Safety will explain significant changes and how these offices are ready to help university researchers navigate these adjustments.
Topics include information on international collaborations, the latest developments regarding researcher conflicts of interest and commitment forms, information and guidance on issues related to international travel, and an explanation of the considerations behind the U.S. Departments of Commerce and State's regulations concerning export control.
Presenters include Brad Woods, associate vice president for research, Office of Research Integrity, Compliance and Security; Lisa Brummett, export controls compliance officer; Elliot Young, assistant vice president, university risk and compliance officer; and Morgan Rhinehart, director, conflict of interest and conflict of time.
In addition to the scheduled speakers, there will be updates from the Office of the Vice President for Research, the Office of Research Development and the Office of Sponsored Programs. A Zoom link will be sent out on the Research Administrator Council listserv. All members of the campus community are invited to attend, and anyone not on the listserv should contact Anita Fahrny for the link.
