Matulewicz and Bender attend ICLCA annual conference
Luke Matulewicz, assistant director of the Academic Achievement Center, and Shana Bender, assistant director the Academic Success Center, both attended the International College Learning Center Association's 2024 annual conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, last week.
The International College Learning Center Association, or ICLCA, is an organization of professionals dedicated to promoting excellence among learning center personnel as they develop and maintain learning centers, programs and services to enhance student learning at the post-secondary level.
While attending the conference, both Matulewicz and Bender also individually presented on different topics.
Bender presented a concurrent session on the structure and impact of the Scholars Assisting Scholars peer-led exam review sessions. The session focused on student leadership and reflective practices for exam preparation.
Matulewicz presented a preconference session on creating an action plan for a learning center using ICLCA's Learning Center of Excellence criteria and a concurrent session on Wabash Refresh and the results of the first semester of the program. All sessions were well attended by conference-goers.
Additionally, at the conference, Matulewicz was appointed as the marketing and communications officer for the Central States CLCA, the regional affiliate for Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Illinois.
