Foerster’s Feather Reed Grass, Calamagrostic x acutiflora 'Karl Foester'
Full Sun, Cool-Season
The cultivar ‘Karl Foerster’ is very popular, and with good reason. As a cool-season grower it greens up early in the spring and blooms in June. The flower stalks are present for the rest of the year, and add great texture to landscapes. Its upright form makes it perfect for backdrops or formal plantings. A great plant for any garden!
In the ornamental grass trial it is planted in two locations that were established a year apart, thus giving visitors a better idea of how it performs over time. Its winter foliage was not as spectacular as many of the warm season grasses, but it did stay fairly upright.
