Scholarships

Besides the university and departmental scholarships available to students through the K-State Scholarship Network, cadets have the opportunity to apply for high school and in-college scholarships. These scholarships are offered through the AFRTOC program and require separate applications and qualification criteria. Below you will find information and links to these scholarships.

High School Scholarship

The application for High School Scholarships begins in high school (typically during your junior and senior year) and involves a number of factors including GPA, medical screening, SAT / ACT scores, and a fitness test.

There are several types of High School Scholarships available, offering the following benefits depending on which type awarded:

- Up to full tuition coverage
- Monthly stipend
- Book stipend

In-College Scholarships

In-College Scholarships fall into two categories:

The first is awarded to active cadets during their freshman and sophomores based on merit. Detachment Cadre will nominate cadets once in the spring and once in the fall based on academics, fitness, and leadership potential to compete on a national board. If awarded the benefits are similar to high school scholarships in terms of what they offer.

The second is awarded to all cadets who pass Field Training which is typically completed between their Sophomore and Junior year. Once a cadet graduates from Field Training, pending any GPA issues, they will automatically be given the In-College Scholarship until graduation.
