Meet the Vice President and Dean of Students

Bringing 30 years of student life administration experience, Thomas Lane became vice president for student life and dean of students at Kansas State University in July 2019. He became vice president for academic success and student affairs and dean of students in July 2023.

Lane provides executive-level leadership, strategic planning, oversight and coordination of all units in the Division of Academic Success and Student Affairs. He also guides development and implementation of high-quality and student-centered approaches to support student success in nonacademic dimensions of student university experiences, and he responds to student crises and issues and concerns, among many other duties.
