This is a very difficult task. The further back you go, the more difficult it might be to understand the importance of circumstances that had an influence on you. And we also have to work hard to avoid self-deception. Even though we might not understand how this thread was influenced by events in our lives, it exists in time to its origins in infancy. Just as a seed does not resemble a mighty oak, the trait is not recognizable in very young children.
