On the day after 9-11, I set aside the book on conscience to begin writing Raising Courageous Kids: Eight Steps to Practical Heroism. I found a partner in Miriam Tager, at the Nancy Love Literary Agency and a publisher, Sorin Books, committed to the issue. These partners shared my enthusiasm for understanding the origins of courage and heroism and bringing that knowledge to parents, teachers, and others who care about children.
