Accessible Course Design
Designing an accessible course ensures that all learners, regardless of their abilities, can engage and participate meaningfully. Ensuring all students can use and engage with online course materials is a core value at Kansas State University. Therefore, creating accessible digital content is the responsibility of everyone involved in course creation.
Accessibility: A Proactive Approach
While accommodations are a necessary component of supporting student success, we advocate for a proactive approach to accessibility whenever possible. Focusing on accessible design from the outset is not only more inclusive but also often more efficient in the long run. It reduces the time and resources required for individual accommodations and ensures a more consistent and user-friendly experience for everyone.
Accessibility Resources
We've put together helpful resources to help you check and improve your course's accessibility.
