Culture of Respect Collective
K-State has joined a group of 21 colleges and universities from across North America for the sixth cohort of NASPA's Culture of Respect Collective program. The Collective is an ambitious two-year program dedicated to helping end campus sexual violence by guiding particiating institutions through a rigorous process of self-assessement and targeted organizational change.
Collective participation strengthens K-State's existing campus sexual violence prevention and response efforts, identifies gaps that may exist and develops strategies for addressing areas for improvement. The initiatives co-chairs are Thomas Lane, vice president for academic success and student affairs and dean of students, and Stephanie Foran, assistant director of K-State's Center for Advocacy, Response and Education.
Action areas
The Culture of Respect utilizes six pillars of evidence-based, expert recommended best practices for campus sexual violence prevention and response. Following the self-assessment, K-State developed an individualized strategic action plan and goals based on these key areas:
