Active Initiatives

Academic Success and Student Affairs is working within our reporting units and collaborating across the university on initiatives that support students' success at K-State and beyond.

Culture of Respect Collective

K-State has joined a group of 21 colleges and universities from across North America for the sixth cohort of NASPA's Culture of Respect Collective program. The Collective is an ambitious two-year program dedicated to helping end campus sexual violence that guides cohort institutes through a rigorous process of self-assessment and targeted organizations change.

Financial Futures

Finances is one of the top stressors for college students. Financial Futures is a comprehensive university-wide effort aimed at addressing the needs of K-State students and promoting financial well-being.

Graduate Assistantships

Departments and offices across the division seek qualified graduate assistants in a variety of student affairs positions. View open positions on DASSA's Graduate Assistantships webpage.

Health Promoting University

K-State adopted the Okanagan Charter in November 2023, formally committing to becoming a Health Promoting University (HPU). As an HPU, K-State prioritizes the physical, mental, and emotional health of those on our campuses, as well as those in the broader university community.

JED Campus

To help us create a healthier and safer university, we've partnered with the JED Foundation, which operates the JED Campus Initiative to assess current university programs and look for ways to enhance a school's mental health and suicide prevention systems, programs, and policies.

K-State Student Success Playbook (pdf)

Prepared by the National Institute for Student Success, the playbook outlines priorities for standardizing advising protocols and technology to deliver proactive, consistent and data-informed advising across the university, and aligning K-State's advising model with national best practices.

Peer Mentoring Collaborative

Help cultivate meaningful connections among students by serving as a peer mentor. Or, find a peer mentor to make your K-State experience more fullfilling. Mentors and mentees foster a sense of belonging, develop critical thinking skills, and enhance their interperson communication skills.
