Campus Physical Security Plan
Security Plan Methodology
A new task force (see members below) has been formed to develop a comprehensive Campus Physical Security Plan to standardize K-State's approach to campus security.
Key components include security cameras, a new badge-access control system, physical key control and emergency response planning.
The task force’s work also includes:
- Evaluating current physical security infrastructure.
- Determining placement strategy, coverage areas and physical access point locations.
- Planning the integration of security considerations for existing buildings.
- Developing design and construction standards for new construction and extensive remodels incorporating these elements.
- Developing policies, including onboarding, offboarding and administration, for key control and badge access systems.

Universitywide Badge-Access System
The task force's efforts to enhance campus security include the recent selection of a single badge-access control system that eventually will replace the access systems currently in place across all K-State campuses. The new system will enable the university to respond to emergency events more quickly and efficiently from a centralized location and reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
