How to Use the Badge-Access System
Using your vertical Wildcat OneCard to access your building after normal business hours and on weekends is easy!
But first, you must have permission from your leadership team to gain building access after hours and on the weekends. Please talk to your dean or department head if you think you should be on the approved list.
Second, you will need a vertical Wildcat OneCard to “badge in” to the building. Keys no longer will be used on the exterior doors. The card looks like the one below.

Using your ID card
- To get into the building, simply place your Wildcat OneCard on the badge reader. You should hear a beep and see a green light when you pull your badge away.
- Open the door and you're in! Note: You'll have about five seconds to enter or the system will require that you badge in again.
- Badge doesn't work? Call the K-State Police Department's non-emergency line at (785) 532-6412 and tell them you're locked out of the building and your ID badge doesn't work.
