Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated was founded on Tuesday, December 4, 1906 on the campus of Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. The Kappa Tau chapter was founded at Kansas State University and Thursday, April 15, 1976 by members we recognize as ‘5 Great Men’: Brother Greg Baker, Brother Lonnie Barnes, Brother Jimmie King and, Brother Keith Peterson. While the Kappa Tau chapter was one of the last Black Greek Letter Organizations founded at Kansas State and we are blessed to have celebrated our 40th continuous year at our university.
