ASA DataFest
A celebration of data and applied learning experience where undergraduate student teams work over a three-day weekend to find and share meaning in a large, rich, and complex dataset provided by an industry sponsor.
Kansas State University undergraduates are invited to compete in the inaugural ASA DataFest at Kansas State University on April 25-27, 2025 in Room 1092 of the College of Business Administration Building on the Manhattan campus of Kansas State University. There is no fee to participate.
This competition collaborates with a secret industry data donor to provide student teams with a rich and complex dataset to gain insights into a real-world problem. Prizes will be awarded to teams producing the most creative and technically sound results. Undergraduates from all fields of study, including (but not limited to) engineering, math, computer science, statistics, biological sciences, physical sciences, social sciences and business are welcome to participate!
Graduate students, staff, and faculty are welcome to participate as Mentors to provide competitors with advice and guidance. We also seek data scientists from academia and industry to serve as event Judges.
The event is sponsored nationally by the American Statistical Association (ASA) and hosted locally by the Institute for Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics with facilities provided by the College of Business Administration. To become a local sponsor of ASA DataFest at Kansas State University, see our Sponsors page or contact Rebecca Dale for more information.
