About Manhattan
Welcome!
Manhattan is a small, welcoming town. Manhattan is located in Kansas, in the scenic Flint Hills region. Manhattan is also known as “the Little Apple” as a play on New York’s Manhattan, “the Big Apple”.
Manhattan has a population of about 55,000 people (2020 Census) and it is home to Kansas State University. You can learn about visiting Manhattan or read more about the history of Manhattan and Riley County, Kansas.

Transportation
Bus Service
Manhattan’s public transportation is ATA Bus. The public buses follow several fixed routes.
Taxis
You can call a taxi to get around Manhattan. You can also use Uber or Lyft.
Car
It is easy to buy a new or a used vehicle in Manhattan. Before purchasing a vehicle, however, you need to have a driver’s license.

Airport
The Manhattan Regional Airport (MHK) has daily flights from Chicago (ORD) and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW).
