Scholarships and Fellowships
Undergraduate and Graduate students with science interests (STEM fields), particularly interests connected to NASA activities, will be supported through scholarship and fellowship grants.
Two undergraduate scholarships were awarded in 2008 to the following students:
- Abby Beuerlein, Department of Geography. GIS-related research at NASA - Application to NASA Ames Research Center Summer Internship.
- Ryan Ringer, Department of Psychology. Classification and interpretation of aerial (satellite) and ground-based views of images.
Two graduate fellowships were awarded in 2008 to the following students:
- Rhett Mohler, PhD student in Geography. "Burned area mapping in tallgrass prairi using in situ spectrometry and satellite imagery."
- Clinton Whitely, PhD student in Chemical Engineering. "Development of a high quality, single crystal B12P2 and B12As2 icosahedral borides for betavoltaics, alphavoltaics, and neutron detectors."
