Economics Club to host debate on drug legalization
The Economics Club will host its annual debate at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 30, in Regnier Forum of Regnier Hall. This year's topic is "Is Drug Legalization the Answer to America's Drug Problem" and it will feature Trevor Burrus, managing editor of the Cato Supreme Court Review, and Kevin Sabet, president of Smart Approaches for Marijuana.
Burrus has authored articles for Forbes, The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today and several other publications. He also is the co-host of Free Thoughts, a weekly podcast covering topics in libertarian theory. Sabet served as the senior advisor at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy under the Obama administration. Sabet also is a regular contributor and blogger to the Huffington Post.
