K-State alumnus and faculty elected to executive board of the International Clarinet Association

Submitted by Tod Kerstetter

Christopher Nichols and Tod Kerstetter

The K-State music program and the state of Kansas are now extremely well represented on the executive board of the International Clarinet Association. The organization recently announced the results of its election, which included the selection of Tod Kerstetter, professor of clarinet, as treasurer, and Christopher Nichols, K-State alumnus, as secretary.

Kerstetter was re-elected to his fourth term as the association's treasurer. He has been of member of the K-State music faculty since 1999.

Nichols came to Kansas as a principal clarinetist of the 1st Infantry Division Band at Fort Riley, and completed his Master of Music at K-State in 2007, and his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Kansas in 2011. He has served on the music faculty of the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware, since 2013.

With more than 3,000 members worldwide, the International Clarinet Association serves as the world's premiere organization for clarinet players of every level. Both Kerstetter and Nichols will be invited performers at this summer's ClarinetFest 2018, the group's annual international convention, which will take place in Ostend, Belgium.
