Art professor presents paper at international photography conference; work included in New York exhibition
Rebecca Hackemann, associate professor of art/photography, is presenting a paper Thursday, March 5, at the Society for Photographic Education Conference in Houston. Her works are also currently being exhibited at the Spring Break Art Show in New York.
Hackemann's paper is titled "Ditching the Lens — a Survey of Lens Based Contemporary Photography — Concepts and Methods." Some of her own photographic art practice is also in this area of camera-less photography.
Six of her works are currently being exhibited at the Spring Break Art Show New York during the air fair week in a booth curated by Artforum critic and curator Chris Bors. The Spring Break Art Show takes place in the former headquarters of Ralph Lauren on Madison Avenue and 59th Street and ends March 9.
Hackemann earned her doctorate from Chelsea College of Art London.
