Call for university partners to co-sponsor annual First-generation Student Graduation Reception
The Office of First-generation Students will host the fourth annual First-generation Student Graduation Reception for graduates and their families on Friday, May 14.
Through strong partnerships and collaborations across campus, we celebrated graduating first-generation students and their families during the past three years. Students will receive a green cord to wear to commencement ceremonies that symbolizes first-generation students' resilience.
We invite you to consider serving on the planning committee to coordinate and implement the graduation reception. The committee will meet several times during the spring 2021 semester starting in mid-February and leading up to the event. Partners are asked to consider making financial and/or in-kind contributions toward the event. Contributing partners will be acknowledged at the graduation reception.
