Mortar Board Senior Honor Society creates a list of COVID-19 myths vs. facts

Mortar Board has partnered with Kansas Beats the Virus to increase the spread of information regarding COVID-19 and the vaccines. With the recent announcement regarding the requirement of vaccinations among all employees, this information has become more crucial than ever. Below, Mortar Board has compiled a list of myths and facts about COVID-19 vaccines. We hope to ease some of the stress if you haven't yet opted to receive the vaccine.
Myth: The vaccines will give you COVID-19.
Fact: The vaccines do not have a live virus and will not give you COVID-19. They trigger an immune response to prepare the body to fight infection.
Myth: The vaccines were rushed and therefore are not safe.
Fact: The vaccine was based on data that has been studied for decades. They have gone through the same rigorous clinical trials as every other vaccine.
Myth: COVID-19 vaccines cause infertility.
Fact: There is no evidence to suggest that the vaccines can cause infertility.
Myth: You do not need to get vaccinated if you've had COVID-19 previously.
Fact: Natural immunity lengths vary from person to person and cannot be a trusted source of protection.
