Weekly global religious, spiritual and nonreligious observance information

Submitted by Stefan Yates

The President's Committee on Religion, Spirituality and Nonreligious Diversity presents the global observance information for May 2-May 8.

May 2, Eid al Fitr Muslim, a festival marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. The exact dates will be dependent on the sighting of the moon closer to the time, as the Holy Month of Ramadan follows the lunar calendar and is the ninth month of the Hijri year.

May 5, National Day of Prayer, United States, Interfaith. Day of observance encouraging prayer among all faiths.

The President's Committee on Religious, Spiritual and Nonreligious Diversity welcomes those of all global religious, spiritual and nonreligious commitments. Further, we welcome any suggestions, questions or other comments. Please contact the committee chair, Bev Earles.
