Call for university partners to co-sponsor First-generation Student Graduation Celebration
The Office of First-generation Students will host the sixth First-generation Student Graduation Celebration on Friday, May 12.
Through strong partnerships and collaborations across campus, we have celebrated graduating first-generation students and their families during the past five years. Students will receive a green cord to wear to commencement ceremonies that symbolizes first-generation students' resilience.
Consider serving on the planning committee to coordinate and implement the event. The committee will meet several times during the spring 2023 semester starting in mid-February and leading up to the event. Partners are asked to consider making financial and/or in-kind contributions toward the event. Contributing partners will be acknowledged at the graduation reception.
If your office, unit or college is interested in co-sponsoring and collaborating in the event, fill out the survey by Feb. 15.
